Donkeys of Bonaire

Donkeys are iconic to Bonaire

They are on the roadside and there are donkey crossing signs everywhere.

We visited the donkey sanctuary and I found out they had a donkey named Angelina.

There weren’t just a few donkeys there…

…there were over 600!

These donkeys would follow our truck hoping for a treat-the ones that smiled had a better chance.

The donkeys were used in the past to carry salt-obviously they were replaced by machines.

We got out and fed them-it was overwhelming.

But we also got the chance to feed them individually too.

And kiss them

A lot of kissing them

And hanging out with the babies.
